根据官方指南，GMAT数学中可能出现的考点可以分为算术、代数、几何、应用题四大类。
具体概念如下
算术：整数的性质、分数、小数、实数、比与比例、百分率、乘与根、描述性统计、集合、数组组合、离散概率；
代数：代数式简化，方程，求解一元一次方程，求解二元一次方程，因式分解，求解二次方程，指数运算，不等式，绝对值，函数；
几何图形：直线、交点和角度、垂线、平行线、凸多边形、三角形、四边形、圆、长方体和圆柱、坐标几何图形；
应用问题：速度问题、生产率问题、混合物问题、利率问题、贴现问题、利润问题、集合问题、几何问题、单位换算问题、图表数据理解。
对许多中国考生来说，GMAT数学通常不是高要求的挑战。 但是，这并不意味着考试中的所有问题都很容易理解。 首先，GMAT数学部分不允许参加者使用计算机。 另一方面，一些可以依赖计算机的问题不得不让人头疼。 其次，数论、集容原理、序列组合、概率、统计等一些概念可以说是相对的难点，尤其是对数学基础不扎实的文科学生来说，很可能会带来不少困难。最后，GMAT数学特有的题型——数据充分性问题的思路比较突出
